In a previous video, I explained how to add editorial reviews to your books using your amazon author central page and I’ll include a link to it here. After that video, I received multiple requests to show people how to set up an amazon author central page. You asked, so here we go.
Before we get started, just to be clear, you need to have at least 1 book live on amazon before you can claim and set up your amazon author central page.
If you already have at least one book published on Amazon, hit the thumbs up. With that 1 prerequisite met, I’m going to flip the screen around and we’ll get started:
First, what is an amazon author central page? Here, let me show you. If you go to amazon and search for a book, in this case, I’m going to search for one of my children’s books, Mimi’s adventure. Here you can see my name is hyperlinked, while, if I scroll down, this name, is not. That hyperlink means that I have an amazon author central page set up. And if I click on my name, the hyperlink will take me to my amazon author central page.
Here on the author central page, you can see my photo, the list of all of my books along with prices and each cover directs the user straight to your books Amazon sales page. One of the best features of the amazon author central page for you, the author, is the ability for your potential customers to follow you.
Now that you know what the author page is, let me show you how to set up an amazon author central page.
1stthing is to go to authorcentral.amazon.com and click “Join Now” on the right side
Next, you’ll read and accept their terms and conditions.
Then you’re going to select at least one of your books.
Once you’ve claimed your book, you can start setting up your amazon author central page. You can add a bio, add in photos, videos, if you have a blog, you can link that here.
Also from your amazon author central page, you can check your book or author rankings, read and even respond to your customer reviews. You can also claim the rest of your books by selecting Books, select add more books. Enter the name of the book you want to claim. When your book shows up, select This is my book.
But what if you write under a pen name. Not to worry you can handle that on your amazon author central page too. Just go to books, add more books, type in the pen name or a book you’ve written under that name. Click on This is my book. Now, when you do, you’ll get a pop-up that says the author name doesn’t match your name, at the bottom of the pop-up, select this is my pen name. And you should be good to go.
This will then set up a separate amazon author central page for that pen name. You’re allowed to have a max of 3 amazon author central pages per email address. So if you write under 4 alias’, you can list the first 3 under one email address and the remaining pen name, under a different email address.
Don’t forget to claim all of the books for each of your alias’.
Remember before I showed you how your potential customers can follow you as an author? Well by setting up and amazon author central page for your pen names, readers can choose to follow them. Every time you make an update to your amazon author central page or the amazon author central page for one of your pen names, the followers of that author will get alerted. Whether you’ve published a new book, you’ve added a new event or posted on your blog, they will get alerted.  Bringing more attention to you as an author all by setting up your free amazon author central page.
So, what are you waiting for? Go out and set up your amazon author central page. When you’re done, let me know in the comments below.
On your way out, don’t forget to subscribe to the channel and smash that bell icon, so you don’t miss a thing.
Until next time, I’m Keith Wheeler and remember to Write Right!
