When it comes to publishing a book or ebook the first platform that comes to mind is typically Amazon’s KDP or Kindle Direct Publishing. While KDP allows you to self-publish both ebook as well as kdp print books, for the sake of this tutorial, I will focus on how to publish an ebook on Amazon Kindle
So let’s get started:
Step 1: Log into kdp.amazon.com
Step 2:Select Language, Book Title and Subtitle(if one exists)
Step 3: Enter Series title, volume # (if book is in a series), Edition #(if not first edition) and Author Name
Step 4: List Contributors, Book Description and Publishing Rights Status
Step 5: Enter Keywords
Step 6: Select up to 2 categories, Age and Grade range(Both are optional) and whether you want to pre-order or go live
Step 7: Select “Save and Continue”
Step 8: Select DRM choice, upload manuscript and cover(or use cover creator)
Step 9: Launch Previewer and enter in ISBN and Publisher (both optional)
Step 10: Select “Save and Continue”
Step 11: Choose whether or not to join KDP Select and select territories
Step 12: Choose pricing structure and enter price point
Step 13: Choose whether to join Matchbook and Book Lending programs
